This year’s Trunk or Treat at church was filled with candy-colored joy!
Our setup turned the parking lot into a life-sized candy land with:
🍬 Giant gummy bears
🍭 Oversized lollipops
🧁 Sprinkle-covered tablecloths
🧡 A gumball machine centerpiece
🎉 And the sweetest banner reminding everyone that Jesus’ love is the greatest treat of all!
There’s nothing like seeing a church parking lot light up with joy, laughter, and sweet reminders of God’s love. This year, for our Trunk or Treat, we wanted a theme that would be both eye-catching for kids and encouraging for families. That’s how we landed on our candy-inspired trunk theme: “Jesus’ Love is Sweet!”
Why This Theme Works 🍬
Kids already love candy, colors, and oversized fun—and what better way to connect their excitement with the truth that Jesus’ love is even sweeter? This trunk theme not only draws in families but also provides the perfect opportunity to share Scripture in a fun, welcoming way.
The Setup 🍭
We transformed our trunk into a candy land paradise using bright, oversized decorations from Oriental Trading Company. They make it easy to pull everything together with just a few key pieces:
- Giant Gummy Bears: These playful cutouts were instant kid-favorites and made the whole display pop.
- Oversized Lollipops: Standing tall on either side of the trunk, they created a colorful, whimsical backdrop.
- Gumball Machine Prop: A bold centerpiece that added a nostalgic and interactive feel to the setup.
- Sprinkle Tablecloths: The perfect base layer for candy jars, treat bowls, and small décor.

To add to the fun, we laid out a rainbow-striped candy walkway leading right up to the trunk—because even the little details make a big impact.
